Projects and Work Areas

Dominik May studied industrial engineering at the TU Dortmund University. Since 2010 he has worked as a research associate at the Center for Higher Education in different projects for teaching and learning in engineering education at TU Dortmund University.

Within the ELLI project Dominik May is also engaged with Virtual Learning Environments in the work package Mobile Learning. He is a member of the research group Engineering Didactics (teaching and learning in engineering education) whose aim is to bring together different research groups that deal with engineering education, e.g. "TeachING-LearnING.EU", ELLI, Lab-Ing, CoM@ING, and e-QUAL 2.0.

Since 2011 Dominik May has offered a transnational online course for engineering students in cooperation with the University Of Virginia (Charlottesville, VA, USA) where German and American students work in transnational project teams on engineering issues with global implications. The course’s aim is to develop appropriate skills to communicate and work effectively in international project teams so that participants can develop skills increasingly required in the global workplace.
