Projekte und Arbeitsbereiche

Dominik May hat an der TU Dortmund Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen studiert. Seit 2010 arbeitet er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Zentrum für HochschulBildung der TU Dortmund in unterschiedlichen Projekten zur Ingenieurdidaktik.

Im Rahmen des Projektes ELLI2 bearbeitet Dominik May aktuell im Handlungsfeld Remote Labore und Virtuelle Lernwelten das Arbeitspaket Mobile Learning sowie im Handlungsfeld Globalisierung das Arbeitspaket Transnationale Aktivitäten. Zudem ist er Mitglied der Forschungsgruppe Ingenieurdidaktik an der TU Dortmund und der AG Ingenieurdidaktik in der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hochschuldidaktik (dghd). Darin arbeiten Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter aus unterschiedlichen Projekten und Vorhaben zur fachbezogenen Hochschuldidaktik der Ingenieurwissenschaften deutschlandweit zusammen und entwickeln gemeinsam Ansätze zur evidenzbasierten Innovation der Lehre.

Seit 2011 bietet Dominik May in unterschiedlichen Kontexten transnationale online Lehrveranstaltung für Studierende der Ingenieurwissenschaften an. Im Rahmen dieser Lehrveranstaltungen bearbeiten internationale Studierende in transnationalen Projektteams ingenieurwissenschaftliche Fragestellungen mit globalen Auswirkungen. Ziel der Veranstaltungen ist es, dass die Studierenden entsprechende Kompetenzen entwickeln, um in internationalen Projektteams effektiv zu kommunizieren und zu arbeiten. Auf diese Weise entwickeln sie Kompetenzen, die in einer Arbeitswelt mit globalisierten Märkten zunehmend gefordert wird.

Darüber hinaus ist Dominik May seit 2016 Associate Editor-in-Chief für das "International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET)".
